Dental Bridges

Trusted Dentists For Porcelain Dental Bridges in Vancouver, WA

If you’re missing multiple teeth, porcelain bridges can be your smile solution. When you have missing teeth, your surrounding teeth shift to ‘fill the gap’, which causes misalignment and difficulty chewing and speaking. Many patients have aesthetic concerns with misaligned teeth, which causes further distress. In addition, misaligned teeth are harder to clean effectively which increases your risk for tooth decay and gum disease. A porcelain dental bridge is a restorative procedure used to maintain the integrity of your jaw and teeth.

Porcelain dental bridges can ‘bridge the gap’ between missing teeth.

A dental bridge is a prosthetic appliance used to span the width of the area in your mouth where one or more teeth are missing. A dental crown is affixed to each end of the bridge. When you have missing teeth, it’s more than just a cosmetic issue. If not treated, it can cause a snowball effect of poor dental health. Missing teeth can cause surrounding teeth to shift because there isn’t a solid structure to maintain jaw integrity. When teeth shift they become crooked which makes it harder to clean your teeth properly. This increases your risk of tooth decay and gum disease which can cause further tooth loss.

A dental bridge procedure usually takes two visits. During the first visit, your dentist will prep the surrounding teeth for a dental crown then take an impression of the surrounding teeth and gum. This will be sent to our dental lab to create your custom bridge that will fit in your mouth perfectly. In the interim, you will receive temporary crowns to support the surrounding teeth. When your bridge arrives, we’ll schedule your next appointment. At this appointment, your dentist will remove the temporary crowns and permanently bond your custom bridge to the supporting teeth.
